Can you think of anything better than watching Titanic with the Queen Mary literally in the background of your movie screen? Alamo Drafthouse has been popping up screenings in and around Los Angeles as they prepare to open their new movie house in Downtown LA, so when I heard they'd be doing a screening in Long Beach I was so excited to get to photograph the event. Your movie ticket included a self guided tour of the ship too! The sunset and evening couldn't have been more perfect. I love being near the ocean at that time of day and it definitely was a beautiful time to photograph! The golden light covered the buildings across the harbor, it glistened over the ocean, and through the openings of the sundecks on the ship and as the sun set further, it made the sky turn into what looked like cotton candy with the prettiest pinks and purples. A Celtic band opened the event and they had a sea captain roaming the area for guests to take pictures with! If you are going to watch Titanic again, this was a great way to do that!
Dinner at All Time
It seems fitting that the first photo story here would be about a dinner we photographed for some of our nearest and dearest friends who recently opened the incredible All Time restaurant in Los Feliz. Ashley was wine-ing and dining some friends in town from Italy and some LA locals so she asked if we could join in on the fun to capture a bit of the dinner. I'll never say no to Ashley so you but your buns we were there. All Time is the kind of place where you walk in for dinner and immediately know you're going to have an incredible dining experience but at the same time, it's the kind of spot where you feel like you might just be at the table in your friend's kitchen... that friend who is an amazing cook, of course. The tea lights lit in mason jars warm the space right up and wine glasses are kept cozy in a farmhouse style hutch that I'm obsessed with. Pictures from their travels are hung along the ship lap walls, the wine list is written by hand, and the dinner menu painted on old windows. Handmade tables are spread throughout the space both indoor and out on the patio that's lit by string lights you might have in your own backyard. Its quaint and cozy and just wonderfully perfect. I love what our friends built together, the care they have put into all of it and the way they will make anyone feel like they've just welcomed you into their own home. Hopefully these pictures speak to that. And hopefully you'll just go see for yourself.
